Lone Operator: How to Survive & Thrive in the Modern Age 

Ground Branch is considered the premier covert action, ‘black ops’ unit in the world. They conduct highly classified missions that required extreme plausible deniability in high consequence, zero compromise environments against national level threats. Less than 1% of all SOF (Special Operations Forces) operators have successfully passed the mental, physical and psychological requirements to become a Ground Branch operator. In the event that an SAD/SOG operative is compromised during a mission, the US government may deny all knowledge of their activities.

This brings us to the designer of this bug out bug - retired Ground Branch operator and reality TV star, Joseph Teti. Joe hand-picked each piece of equipment within this bag himself. Joe Teti is a 20+ year military veteran and government special operations veteran, serving as a former Force Recon Marine, US Army Special Forces "Green Beret" and a former operative with the CIA's Special Activities Division/ Special Operations Group "Ground Branch". 

Joe has seen it all, and Joe has done it all. The Ground Branch Bug Out Bag is a no-joke, bare bones, hardcore bag with the bare essentials designed for a 72-hour bug out scenario that gets you from point A to point B with carrying as little as possible in order to be as mobile as possible.

COMPONENTS SPECS:

MOLLE Bag – made of olive drab oxford cloth/nylon fabric, this MOLLE-compatible bag measures 8”x6”x5” and has a Velcro strip across the front flaunting the Spartan Americana morale patch – Joe Teti’s tactical training company.

Survival Knife – drop point stainless steel, 7.4” overall length, 3.74” blade, 0.16” thickness, handle made of engineering plastic and a plastic sheath complete with backup compass and diamond rod sharper.

Water Filter Straw – made by Filterwell, this straw removes 99.9999% of all impurities. UF hollow fiber membrane and extendable rubber hose with carbon fiber tip for extra filtering power. CE (Conformité Européenne) certified in 31 countries.

Life Bivy – a combination of polyester and plastic, this bivy bag fits in the palm of your hand and is easily deployable. Color: OD Green. Measures 78 ¾” x 39.4”.

Life Tent – this V-type shelter is OD Green and comes with nylon tie-outs already attached. Sporting reflective mylar on the interior, this compact and lightweight shelter is perfect for reflecting your own body heat (90% reflection) for core temperature regulation. In the warmer months it can be turned inside out to reflect the sun’s rays away from you. Measures 96.5” x 61.8”.

Emergency Mylar Blanket – the emergency mylar blanket is always a must-have. This adds an extra layer of body heat reflection should you find yourself needing to access your GBBOB in the colder months, especially overnight. Remember – your body burns more calories when it shivers than it does when it sweats…keep your core temperature protected! One side is OD Green and the other side is the standard reflective silver. Measures 82.7” x 51.2”.

Microfiber Towel – breathable, but at the same time it absorbs moisture. This quick-dry microfiber towel measures 30” x 14”, OD Green, and is extremely compact. Think 2-case scenario:  1) It’s winter and you happen to fall into a body of water – you NEED to get dry and FAST. This gets the job done in a hurry.  2) Warmer months when your feet are sweating in your boots – blisters are your worst enemy when you're on foot. Take a few minutes to dry the sweat from your feet and keep the blisters to a minimum. 

Rechargeable Flashlight – with 800 lumens of power this multifunctional mini rechargeable flashlight can fit right in the palm of your hand. It functions as a regular flashlight as well as having a highlight window on the side of the handle for illuminating a wider range of darkness. Has aluminum alloy housing and telescoping abilities. Battery type 18350. Features a low battery reminder.

Compass Wristwatch – navigation is the most underrated skill in survival. You don’t need to be a pro at navigating the world in a bug out scenario, but at minimum you need to know where you’re coming from, and where you’re headed. This compass wristwatch makes life easier on the move. It features a waterproof and shockproof build with a durable ABS plastic case, ensuring longevity under various conditions.

Ferro Rod with Striker – having the means to start a fire over and over again without running out of matches or fuel is vital for numerous reasons with maintaining body temperature at the top pf the list. This ferro rod is 3.85” long with a small plastic handle and metal striker attached via a lanyard.

Hand Chain Saw with Paracord Handles – this is a heavy duty metal hand chain saw. None of that wire chain saw stuff. It even has heavy duty OD green paracord handles for comfort and ease of mobility while in use. The chain itself measures 24” in length.

Survival Whistle – should you need to signal for help you’re going to need something that travels further than your voice. This small plastic whistle can be fastened onto your belt loop, around a necklace, on your ferro rod lanyard, or even fit inside the change pocket of your jeans. The universal signal for SOS is 3 loud whistle blows in a row.

Solar Panel – having a method to charge not only your rechargeable flashlight that comes in this kit, but also charge your cell phone in an emergency event is extremely valuable. This small panel yields 2W 5V of power when placed directly in the sun with your device plugged in. Thin and flexible, this solar panel doesn’t take up much room at all.

Paracord - we provide enough paracord to get your Life Tent ridgeline deployed for your shelter. This paracord is 7-strand, rated for 100 lbs. and is 33' in length. OD Green.
