My name is Jeremy Dougherty and I am the founder of Maroon Bell Outdoor. I designed these gloves to bring regard back to consumers. I am a 4th generation Coloradan and I got sick of cheap gloves that would fall apart mid project. I also got tired of bulky, old school mitts that felt like oven mitts.  This was my first  design 9 years ago. We made them in small batch then made them better with every round. We are 9 years and about 20 iterations into that cycle.

We use full grain Water Buffalo because it is arguably the strongest leather available for gloves. We do not stretch the hides or sand out impurities because that would tear the natural fibers. Over a period of time the contours of your hand will stretch these gloves into a second layer of skin. For most people these gloves will last forever which was the point. Having said all of that, we are in this to bring you value. If for whatever reason you are not fully satisfied please contact us and we will work with you on a solution. These are currently being used by Motorcycle riders, Special Forces, Wildfire Firemen called initial attack crews and Tulsa Fire Department.

 WHAT SIZE TO CHOOSE?

• First, measure around your palm, under the knuckles
  
• Then select your size with the chart below
  
• Finally, if you fall between sizes, choose the larger size
  
• These gloves were designed a bit smaller, because they stretch out with time
  
• When you receive these Buffalo leather ranching gloves, expect for them to feel very stiff, like your first baseball mitt. The Water Buffalo is so tough it takes some time for it to loosen up
  
• These gloves have a form-fitting design that conforms to the shape of your hand for a comfortable and snug fit

Why are they 3 times stronger? 

1. First these ranch hand gloves are made from Buffalo hide which has an epidermal layer 3 times thicker than cow hide.
2. Buffalo hide is not stretched during the tanning process making it thicker and more resistant to tearing.  
3. Finally, this specific glove is made from “Full Grain” leather which is one of the best quality leathers available. Full Grain simply means the imperfections were not removed giving the final product its incredible strength and durability.
