Casting Call — FAQ
Clear answers about eligibility, how to apply, what to submit, timelines, filming commitments, compensation, privacy, and more for The Survival Games TV series.
Eligibility
Who can apply?
Applicants must be 18+ on the date of casting, legally able to work in the United States, and capable of participating in outdoor activities. All selections are subject to background checks and production approvals.
Do I need pro-level survival skills?
No. We’re looking for grit, teachability, strong stories, and on-camera presence. A baseline of outdoor competence and safety awareness helps, but attitude and teamwork matter most.
Can I apply with a partner or team?
Yes—apply individually and mention your partner’s full name/email in your application. Each person must submit their own form and materials. Casting may pair or reorganize teams at production’s discretion.
How to Apply
Where do I submit my application?
Complete the form on our Casting Call page. You’ll upload links to your intro video and photos, plus basic info about you and your outdoor background.
I’m having trouble with uploads or links—what should I do?
Host large files on a share link (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox, YouTube unlisted) and paste the URL. Ensure permissions are set to view. If issues persist, submit the form and email the links to info@pnwsurvivalgames.com with your full name.
Audition Materials
What should my intro video include and how long should it be?
Aim for 60–120 seconds. Introduce yourself, where you’re from, your outdoor experience, your biggest challenge overcome, and why you’d crush the Games. Speak clearly, natural light, horizontal video preferred. Authentic > polished.
Do I need photos or a resume of experience?
Yes—include 2–4 recent photos (face + full body; outdoor action if possible). A brief skills snapshot is helpful (e.g., navigation, firecraft, first aid, cold weather, paddling, SAR, military/vet).
Review & Timeline
What happens after I apply? When will I hear back?
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Shortlisted applicants may be invited to a virtual interview. If selected to advance, you’ll receive instructions for background checks and next steps. If you’re not selected immediately, we may retain your application for future seasons.
Is competing in the live event required before casting decisions?
No, but competing can showcase your skills and teamwork under pressure. Casting is independent from event standings and is not guaranteed by registration. To compete, visit the Registration page.
Filming & Commitment
Where and when does filming take place? How long is the commitment?
Filming locations and windows are shared with advancing candidates only and may span multiple days. Plan for flexibility around travel days, briefings, and production holds. Exact dates are subject to change based on production needs and weather.
Will travel and lodging be arranged?
Advancing candidates receive detailed logistics. Depending on role and episode format, production may coordinate or reimburse certain travel/lodging. Always wait for written instructions before booking your own travel.
Compensation & Expenses
Is there pay, prizes, or per diem for cast members?
Compensation, prizes, and per diem (if applicable) vary by role, episode, and production constraints. Final terms are shared in writing during the contracting phase and may include NDAs and appearance releases.
Privacy, Rights & Releases
How is my information used? Will I sign releases/NDAs?
Application materials are used solely for casting and internal evaluation. Advancing candidates will sign standard appearance releases and may be asked to sign NDAs. By submitting, you grant us permission to review and share your materials with our casting/production partners.
Safety & Conduct
What safety standards and codes of conduct apply during filming or events?
You must follow all instructions from producers, safety staff, and marshals. Unsafe behavior, harassment, or failure to comply may result in removal from consideration or production. Medical staff and emergency protocols are in place for sanctioned activities.
Tips for a Strong Application
How do I stand out to casting?
Be authentic and specific. Share a short story that reveals your grit, leadership, or teachability. Show your face clearly, speak with energy, and keep your video focused. If you’ve competed in our event, mention your division and year.
Accessibility & Special Circumstances
I have a medical condition or accessibility need—can I still apply?
Yes. Let us know in your application. We assess each role and activity for reasonable accommodations while maintaining safety. Advancing candidates may be asked for additional information from their healthcare provider.
